Film Poster Analysis

Blade Runner

1. It looks like a sci-fi movie because of its futuristic elements such as the buildings, font style and ship/shuttle-like object. It also looks like it could belong to the film noir genre because of the woman smoking as it creates the idea of an old style detective type character.

2. I think the film might be about the man being one of the main characters who is looked up to as a heroic type figure due to him being in the centre of a beam of light. The woman might be a detective who is trying to take the man down. Alternatively they could both have similar goals in the movie but work                                   in different ways

3. The target audience is most likely adults due to the use of weaponry and smoking.

   Scary Movie 2

1. The genre looks like it would be a parody due to its features of both comedy and horror.

2. The movie looks like its about mocking other horror movies and taking lines from them and altering them to be more humorous. Eg. ones girls top says 'i love dead people' and the original line is from Sixth Sense and goes 'i see dead people'.

3.  The target audience is most likely teenagers/young adults.

Uzak

1. This movie would fit into the genre of foreign films as 'uzak' is Turkish. This movie also looks like it could also come under non-fiction as it looks like it could be a true story.

2. I think the story could be from the mans personal point of view and the movie is about his life and the things he has experienced.

3. I think the movie was originally                                                                                                             targeted towards those that spoke                                                                                                               the language, however as it                                                                                                                       became more recognised the                                                                                                                     target audience became all adults.

 I'm not scared

 1. The movie looks like it would be a thriller as there is a dark and mysterious element to it through the image of the boy looking down into something that isn't revealed. From what i can see it could possibly be a dug up grave or some kind of secret escape hatch which alludes to the idea of danger and horror.

2. I think the story could be about a boy who is out playing/exploring when he comes across the (possible)grave/escape hatch and starts to dig until he uncovers something he shouldn't have found or wasn't meant to see.

3. The target audience for this movie
is likely to be adults because of it's
elements of horror.

Sin City

1. The movie looks like it would be a crime/drama as the lighting is dark which alludes to the idea of hidden secrets and mystery as well as danger.

2. I think the story could be about the man in the centre of the poster trying to track down villains and kill them along with a team of people(the people next to him)and being the hero(because of the image at the bottom of a man in a cape)

3. The target audience for this movie is most likely young adults/adults because of the use of weaponry and possible violence.

Image result for pirates of the caribbean dead mans chestPirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest

1. This movie looks like it would be an action/fantasy because of the image of a pirate and giant monster/octopus-looking tentacle hanging over the ship.

2. I think the story will be about the pirate and his adventures and how he met the other two characters on the poster and will then show them defeating evil creatures/other pirates (because of the tentacle, the rocking ship and the people at the bottom of the poster)

3. The target audience would most likely be younger (such as teens) because of its elements of fantasy and the idea of adventures on an imaginary land.

Bride and prejudice
Related image

1. I think this film is a drama as the title includes the word 'bride' showing how the movie is about a wedding. The fact that the movie is (likely) to be based on the girl's wedding suggests that it is a drama because it creates the idea of chaos and things that could go wrong.

2. I think the storyline is about a girl who's parents are trying to force an arranged marriage and she is expected to conform to the norms and values of her culture, however she doesn't want to follow traditions and finds somebody else that she falls in love with and wants to marry.

3. I think the target audience would probably be
teens.

Million Dollar Baby

1. This movie looks like it would be a drama as the shadows and darkness add a dramatic effect as it doesn't reveal all of each characters features which creates mystery.

2. I think the storyline is about a the girl in the centre of the poster who is training in some kind of sport and the movie is about her journey and how she ends up becoming a huge success, hence the title 'million dollar baby'.

3. I think the target audience would be younger people as the moral of the story is probably to strive for what you want and to not give up.
