Film Poster Analysis

Blade Runner 1. It looks like a sci-fi movie because of its futuristic elements such as the buildings, font style and ship/shuttle-like object. It also looks like it could belong to the film noir genre because of the woman smoking as it creates the idea of an old style detective type character. 2. I think the film might be about the man being one of the main characters who is looked up to as a heroic type figure due to him being in the centre of a beam of light. The woman might be a detective who is trying to take the man down. Alternatively they could both have similar goals in the movie but work in different ways 3. Star persona video feedback and learner response

Krissah WWW - The make up looked professional and clearly indicated that you was going for a zombie/horror film look. You can also tell that you took inspiration from your mood board which helped highlight the aspects of mise-en-scene in the video. EBI - Although sound isn't an aspect in mise-en-scene i think a different song could have been chosen to match the genre of the look you created. Mariam WWW - You used the costume and make up aspects of mise-en-scene very effectively to make the transformation to a different time period evident. The lighting in the video is also quite bright but monotone, creating a resemblance between yourself and pictures from that era as it almost looks black and white. Mise-en-scene

Costume The colours of the actors outfits are very basic and dull , a deliberate choice made to reflect the mood (which the consumer would assume is serious ). The colours are also quite similar to the background which creates the idea that they are trying to camouflage . This conveys the idea that they are trying to hide or sneak up on people and are in a dangerous situation. Both the female and male actor are wearing little to cover or protect them, leaving their bare arms exposed. This could be to highlight the fact that they are in an extreme situation, as this kind of look is often seen in movies where there is conflict and destruction (for example in 'The Impossible' the woman was in a similar attire to the woman in this still image). The muted colours could also be deliberate to allow the audience to focus on other features in the frame in order to comprehend what is happening in the scene .
